ABUJA, (CAJ News) – A delegation of top officials of the United States government has pledged the country’s support to the ongoing fight against the Boko Haram terror group in Nigeria.
Led by Brigadier General Donald Bulduc, Commander Special Operations Africa and the United States Ambassador Don Mozena, Coordinator,Department of State, Counter-Boko Haram, the team gave the re-assurance during a visit to the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
Colonel Rabe Abubakar, the Acting Director Defence Information, confirmed the visit.
He said that the visit by the delegation was a follow-up to President Muhammadu Buhari’s earlier visit to the United States.
Buhari visited that country in July.
During the visit, political leaders of the two countries pledged to work together to combat terror.
The Boko Haram crisis has claimed thousands of lives and displaced some 2 million people.
