Four suspected Boko Haram members have been arrested and two heavy improvised explosive devices (IEDs) thwarted during the operation conducted under Operation Lafiya Dole.
Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, said the troops intercepted the four fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists who alleged they were on their way to surrender to the troops.
They were arrested following information provided by a suspected colleague arrested earlier.
“On preliminary investigation, they were identified as confirmed Boko Haram terrorists members planting IEDs along troops routes by their arrested colleague, Lawan Abbai,” Usman added.
IED clearance operations continue.
