ABUJA, (CAJ News) – TROOPS have pained a grim picture of the mental and physical state of the more than 70 people rescued from the Boko Haram sect.

Due to the ongoing offensive action by the military, another group of 77 people rescued recently arrived in Bama Town on Saturday.

The group consists of 22 women 15 men and 40 children.

Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, said the victims were in a bad state.

“The rescued persons, looking haggard, dejected and obviously malnourished are being catered for by the troops pending the intervention of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA),” said Usman.

Meanwhile, the rescued people had been cooperating with the military.

“They have been giving useful information that is assisting our troops in their offensive operations.”

The military gained more ground on the Boko Haram sect this past weekend with the rescue of yet another 62 people fleeing from Bitti and Pulka.

The troops are also combing all known enclaves of the terrorists within Bama, Banki and Pulka general area.
