Russia softens Nigeria visa requirements

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – RUSSIA has relaxed the process of getting visa for Nigeria applicants willing to travel to the Asian country.

The Consular Division of the Russian Embassy in Abuja disclosed the move  on Tuesday.

According to the message applicants willing to Russian will no longer require to present clearance from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

“This is to inform you that due to the Russian legislation with effect  from August 15, 2016, the requirement to present to the Consular Division  of the Russian Embassy the NDLEA Clearance Certificate has been omitted for all visa types,” the message read.

Recently, Russia Ambassador to Nigeria Nikolay Udovichenko, met Nigeria Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama, to discuss bilateral issues.

These include preparations for the next meeting of the intergovernmental  Russia-Nigeria mixed commission on economic and scientific and technical cooperation in Abuja later this year.
