ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is increasing its presence on local roads to ensure motorists comply with regulations during the upcoming Eid-el-Fitri holiday.
The festivities, which fall on Thursday and Friday, mark the end of the month-long Ramadan fasting.
Boboye Oyeyemi, the Corps Marshal, said the agency would mobilise about 30 000 road safety officials, including special marshals, on major roads across the country for effective management of road traffic.
He urged motorists to comply with traffic laws, particularly the deployment of seatbelts as they embarked on long journeys.
“During the celebration, all FRSC offices, roadside clinics and zebra points would remain open to attend to the needs of the road travelers across the country,” Oyeyemi assured.
Oyeyemi wished all staff of the FRSC and the entire Muslim faithful happy festivities and safety during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration and beyond.
