ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, has taken a swipe at the administration of his rival, Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State governor.

Peterside was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the governorship poll which the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) Wike won amid allegations of vote rigging and violence by his opponent.

“The verdict of the people is that Wike is a terrible disappointment and a wasted opportunity,” said Peterside in Etchethis past weekend.

He was addressing an APC senatorial rally for the rerun National Assembly election.

Peterside blamed the state government for the recurring violence in the region.

He also raised concern at the alleged incessant borrowing by the government of Wike.

“No government has ever been as deceitful as the present government in Rivers State.”

Peterside laid the blame on Wike.

“Wike is a terrible disappointment on all fronts; he brought back abruptly over 400 students who were on state government scholarship abroad during the Amaechi administration; shut down government model primary health centres and primary schools,” Peterside stated.

He thus projected doom for Wike’s party during the rerun legislative elections.

These have been shelved for a later date owing to the violence in the state.

“The panacea for this impending doom and generational catastrophe is for Rivers people to vote for APC legislators who will team up with other men of goodwill and rescue Rivers State from misrule, criminality, rascality and exploitation,” Peterside said.
