Nigerian Army slays terrorists, rescues civilians

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigerian Army has killed several terrorists and rescued a number of civilians held captive by the Boko Haram terror group.
This follows operations around the West African country besieged by terror.
In the northeastern Borno State, troops killed three Boko Haram terrorists and captured another one.
They also rescued five people taken captive by the terrorist gang.
A number of terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds.
One soldier sustained an injury during the operation.
“The captured terrorists have been taken into custody for further
interrogation and onward passage to relevant agencies,” said Brigadier
General Sani Kukasheka Usman , Director Army Public Relations.
Elsewhere, troops have arrested two suspected Boko Haram terrorists in the southern Taraba State.
The Nigerian Army also raided and destroyed armed bandits’ and kidnappers’ den in the northern Kaduna State.
A terror mastermind, Yusuf Wada, was arrested.
The troops are engaged in battle with the militant Boko Haram sect, which is involved in a violent campaign to overthrow the government and establish an Islamic state.
Over 20 000 civilians have been killed and 2 million people displaced.
