LAGOS, (CAJ News) – NIGERIAN youths have been encouraged to embrace entrepreneurship and innovation in order to eradicate poverty.
This has been the prevailing message at the recently-concluded United Nations International Youth Day held at the University of Lagos.
“Youths are important agents of social change and for this reason their contributions to sustainable development are necessary,” said Programme Chairman, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.
“Youths should embrace entrepreneurship and make use of opportunities available to them especially opportunities available in the agricultural sector.”
The Nigerian commemoration of the 2016 International Youth Day event witnessed an interactive session during which young people got the opportunity to ask questions and air their views.
Rise Networks, Nigeria’s leading social enterprise on youth in education, entrepreneurship and public service, in partnership with the UN Office in Nigeria organized the event to mark the 2016 celebration of the UN International Youth Day.
Over 2 000 youths attended.
