Within the last six weeks, the state Command has arrested about ten suspected kidnappers, most of whom have been charged to court.
Along the Abuja-Lokoja highway, Koton-Karfe, Kogi local government area, DSS said it had arrested a gang of robbers and kidnappers following liaison report corroborated by signal intelligence linking them to criminal activities within and outside the state.
Members of the alleged gang operating uniforms have been named as Abdulmuminu Adamu, Haruna Saleh, Kabiru Shaibu and Tukur Shuiabu.
Items recovered include army camouflage, gun, pistol, touch lights, handset, catridges, knife and a veicle as well as N46,675.
Signal intelligence revealed that the group has links with other kidnap syndicate operating in Federal Capital Territory, Kaduna, Katsina and Niger States.
DSS reported the suspects admitted to some crimes.
The Command will continue to collaborate with other security agencies by deploying her core competences to address the security challenges of Kogi State and the Country, taking advantage of the renewed zeal of the State Government in supporting and partnering with security agencies. The suspects will have their day in court soonest.
