ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Army believes it has made a major breakthrough against the Boko Haram sect following the arrest with the arrest of analleged financier of the insurgents in Borno State.
The suspect, Mohammed Maina, is also alleged to be supplying theterrorists with drugs.He has been arrested in the Bama Local Government Area of the terror-pronestate.Maina has been arrested with the sum of One Million Naira cash and some items.
Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, saidthe suspect, a native of Ngurosoye came from Shuari village.
“Investigation revealed that Mohammed supplies them Kolanuts and otheritems especially stimulants,” said Usman.
He further revealed that kolanuts were in high demand among the terroristsas it keeps them active at night.
It is suspected he plies Maiduguri-Dikwa-Kulli axis where he gathersmonetary and other materials contributions from Boko Haram sympathisersalong that axis and send same to the terrorists camps.
“We are glad to report that troops morale remains very high and they areever ready to continue with their duty in the most professional andresponsive manner,” Usman added.
