Taraba flood victims receive relief material

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Member representing Ardokola Lau and Lamido Federal Constituency of Taraba State, Danladi Baido, has distributed relief material to flood victims in his constituency.

The material includes nets, blankets, mats and foodstuffs.

Baido said the magnitude of the disaster was incomprehensible and the victims could not be fully compensated for their losses.

He said a whole village had been evacuated and hundreds of houses and farmlands destroyed.

“The best one can do is to reach out and provide some assistance to victims,” said Baido.

He said has informed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for more assistance to the victims.

“The state government and the affected local government councils are working out ways to compensate the victims of these affected areas.”

He pledged solidarity with the victims.

“They should know that they are not alone in this, as all the stake-holders of the affected areas are working hand in hand to provide assistance.”

Scores of people and domestic animals have been killed after some local governments in Taraba State suffered severe flooding.
