Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Felix Obuah, The Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, said the event will hold on Saturday.
As usual human and vehicular movements will be restricted from 7am to 10am during the sanitation hours.
“The Sole Administrator warns that anyone caught violating the restriction of movement order shall be arrested and charged before the Sanitation Court,” said Needam.
He said Obuah appealed to all residents to fully participate by cleaning their environment, clearing their drains, bagging their wastes and dropping them at approved receptacles only.
He appeals to companies, corporate organizations and individuals to donate their pay loaders, trucks and other equipments for easy evacuation of wastes on the Sanitation Day.
Meanwhile, Needam said the attention of the agency had been drawn to fake Exemption Permit in circulation.
“Anyone caught with Exemption Permit not duly issued by the Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency would be arrested and prosecuted,” he warned.
