ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Felix Obuah, has welcomed the Election Tribunal, which ruled in favour of the party’s legislators amid contested polls.
The tribunal ruled on favour of George Thompson Sekibo who is representing the Rivers East Senatorial District and Senator Olaka Nwogu, representing Rivers South East Senatorial District.
PDP also announced excitement elated by the upholding of the election of members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State namely Jerome Eke (Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency), Blessing Nsiegbe (Port Harcourt
2), Ken Chikere (Port Harcourt 1), Kingsley Chinda (Obio Akpor), Gogo Bright Tamuno (Okrika/Ogu-Bolo) and Jacobson Nbina (Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo).
Others are Awaji Inombek Abiante (Opobo/Nkoro), Dum Dekor (Khana/Gokana) and Emerengwa Boniface Sunday (Ikwerre).
“We congratulate the distinguished Senators George Thompson Sekibo, Olaka Nwogu and all the Honorable members of the House of Representatives on their victories while urging Rivers people to remain calm, focused and prayerful as we await success in the remaining cases at the Tribunal, including the Governorship Election.”
Obuah said the party’s victorious lawmakers had clearly overcome the distractions following weeks of contention from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in elections, which has been adjudged “free, fair and credible.”
