Okojie appointed Operation Delta Safe commander

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Defence has announced the appointment of Rear  Admiral Joseph Osa Okojie as the new commander for Operation Delta Safe in  Niger Delta.

Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, Acting Director of Defence Information, confirmed the appointment.

Until his present appointment, Okojie was the Flag Officer Commanding  Naval Training Command, Lagos.

Last year, the Defence Headquarters had put in place the joint operation  of the army and air force to combat incidences of cattle rustling.

Pulo Shield has been replaced with Operation Delta State to contain the  current security challenges in the Niger Delta, especially protection of  critical national assets and provision of security in the area.
