LAGOS, (CAJ News) – THE Accountant- General of the Federation, AhmedIdris, has commended all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) whohave complied with the Presidential directive on the transition to the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
This is in view of the September 15 deadline.
“Idris while expressing satisfaction with the level of compliance affirmedthat the Treasury Single Account has come to stay, that the compliance isan indication that Nigeria is at the threshold of a new era of transparentand accountable management of Public finances,” Kenechukwu Offie, Head of Press and Public Relations at the AG’s office, said.
According to her, Idris thanked all the MDAs for their cooperation,assuring them and the general public of the preparedness to ensure ahitch-free implementation that will bring about the actualization of theobjective of the policy.
At the close of Business on Tuesday almost all MDAs, especially the revenue yielding ones, had complied with the Presidential directive to transit to the TSA.
President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered that all revenues be paid into theTSA as part of a drive to fight corruption and aid transparency.
