Ex-Defence chief Badeh’s trial deffered to October

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has adjourned to October for the continuation of the fraud trial in the prosecution of erstwhile Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh.

Among the alleged offences, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is accusing Badeh of abusing his office by using the dollar equivalent of the sum of N1,4 billion from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force to purchase properties in choice areas of Abuja between  January and December 2013.

The offence which contravenes Section 15 (2) (d) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 15(3) of the same Act.

On Monday, Justice Okon Abang adjourned the trial to run for three days until October 12.
