ABUJA, (CAJ News) – A top-of-the-table clash between log leaders, Enyimba, and second-placed Warri Wolves could determine the new champions of the Nigeria’s Glo Premiership.
The two sides clash at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, Abia State.
Kickoff is at 17h00.
With only two matches left before the Nigeria premiership curtains come down, Enyimba look certain to seal a first title in five years.
They need a draw to secure the championship.
Enyimba leads the 20-team league log table with 68 points from 36 matches played while second-positioned Warri Wolves have 62 points from the same number of games.
A win for Wolves will throw the race wide open and ensure the winner is determined on the last round of matches.
Even if they lose on Sunday, Enyimba though would still seal the championship with at least a draw on the final day.
The favourites can still lose the remaining two matches, including one to Woves, but claim the title if Wolves do not secure maximum points in their last match.
Thus Enyimba are a safe bet to land the Premiership.
Elsewhere, Wikki Tourists will be away to El-Kanemi Warriors in another match promising fireworks.
Fourth placed Giwa Football Club hosts ninth positioned 3SC, fifth on the table Nasarawa United will be away to vastly improved 10th positioned FC Ifeanyiubah.
Other crucial matches lined up for Sunday comprise 11th placed Abia Warriors against second from the bottom FC Taraba, 12th positioned Rangers travelling for crucial date with 14th Lobi Stars.
Improved Akwa United, who are in 13th position on the league table, will be away to Kano Pillars, 16th-placed Sharks will be hosting Kwara United.
Lowly-placed Dolphins, who are 17th will entertain Heartland while relegation bound Bayelsa United host sixth placed Sunshine Stars.
All matches kick-off at 17h00 to avoid match fixing.
