Dangote urges linkages to steer national development

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – GOVERNMENT and the private sector must continue to collaborate on building structures and other national values as maintain existing structures to stimulate national development.

This is the recommendation of Chairman and Chief Executive of Dangote Group of Companies Alhaji, Aliko Dangote.

The wealthiest man in the country and the continent spoke through a representative at the ground breaking ceremony of Federal Civil Servants Housing Estate at the Apo Tafyi District in Abuja.

It is a project of Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Programme in partnership with Building System International.

This was part of the activities marking the 2016 Nigeria Civil Service Week Celebration.

Executive Director, Dangote Group of Companies, Mansur Ahmed, presented on Dangote’s behalf.

“As the Civil Service is mother of all institutions, if Civil Servants work, other institutions would work well,” he said

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, said the provision of mass housing was a basic need that would also contribute to the development of national economy through the generation of employment in the building and allied industries and its attendant increase in financial intermediation and economic activities.

“My Office conceptualized the FISH Programme to provide cost effective and affordable housing for various categories of workers as a means to uplift their moral, commitment, stewardship and quality of life during and after service,” she said.
