Citizens dissuaded from crowded places

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – MEMBERS of the public have been advised to be alert and conscious of crowded and populated public places.

Such places include markets and places of worship.

The call by Acting Director, Defence Information, Col Rabe Abubakar, comes on the back of a spate of suicide bombings.

Abubakar thus charged members of the public to collaborate with the military and other security agencies in the supply of timely information that could assist the agencies to be pro-active in their resolve to contain the insurgency.

Suicide bombings have largely been blamed on Boko Haram terrorists.

On Monday, the Military disclosed it had arrested a suicide bomber attempting to blow up Yankari Motor Park in Bauchi State.

Abubakar said the suspected suicide bomber was arrested before he could commit the crime.

He assured that the Defence Headquarters was re-strategising to halt issue of suicide bombings in the country.

He commended the troops for their ever-ready posture to tackle head-on all forms of criminality by the terrorists.
