Buhari sends well wishes to Tukur at 80

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated formerPeople’s Democratic Party (PDP Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, as theelder statesman turns 80 on Tuesday.

According to Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media andPublicity, President Buhari joins Bamanga’s family, friends, associatesand well-wishers in rejoicing with him as he marks another notablemilestone in what has been said to be a worthy and fulfilled life.

“The President seizes the opportunity of the Tafidan Adamawa’s 80thbirthday to reaffirm the nation’s enduring gratitude for his significant contributions to Nigeria’s political and socio-economic development overmany years,” said Adesina.”

“President Buhari particularly commends Alhaji Tukur’s diligent and patriotic service to his community, state and country as a public servant,political leader and accomplished businessman of international repute.”He added that the President also extolled the exemplary political maturityand commitment to national peace and development displayed by the formerPDP leader in being one of the first to congratulate him after his victory in the March Presidential elections.

The Adamawa-born Tukur is also one of Nigeria’s foremost entrepreneurs.
