ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Akwa Ibom State chapter of the People's Democratic Party
(PDP) is confident the Election Tribunal would endorse the election of Governor Udom
Emmanuel.

Counsel to the party, Tayo Oyetibo, believes the party has a strong case.

Oyetibo said the tribunal ruling which dismissed the application by PDP for
additional witnesses did not diminish the strength of their case.

“Since the evidence we were bringing is still along the same line as the evidences
we have led, we are not disturbed by the ruling," he said.

"We are not disturbed and we remain as strong as we were before the application was
made,” Oyetibo said.

Meanwhile, PDP has subpoenaed the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC) to produce Accreditation Incidence Report
Forms before the tribunal.

The incidence forms, contained in three giant bags popularly referred to as
Ghana-Must-Go, were tendered before the Justice Umar Sadiq-chaired tribunal in Abuja
by Obinna Ayogu from the INEC in Akwa Ibom State.

One of the bags was physically brought into the court room and examined.

Ayogu told the tribunal that the bags contained incidence forms from 30 local
government areas, and promised to tender the remaining one local government area on
Friday.

The election earlier this year saw Emmanuel score 996 071 votes to defeat his All
Progressives Congress (APC) opponent, Umana Umana, who polled 89 865 votes.
APC is challenging the result citing irregularities and violence.
