ABUJA, (CAJ News) – PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has directed the police andother security agencies to take all necessary action to ensure the safeand speedy rescue of Chief Olu Falae.
The Ondo State politician was abducted from his farm on Monday, on the dayof his 77th birthday. Kidnappers are reportedly demanding N100 million$500 000) ransom for his release.
Femi Adesina Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, saidBuhari condemned the kidnapping of the former Secretary to the Governmentof the Federation and elder statesman.
“The President assures Chief Falae’s family, friends and other concernedNigerians that the Federal Government will do all within its powers toensure his swift release,” Adesina said.
He added Buhari had requested constant updates from the police andsecurity agencies on efforts to find and rescue Falae.He overall denounced the recurring incidents of criminal abductions acrossthe country.
Adesina said the President assured all Nigerians that ongoing efforts tosignificantly enhance the security of lives and property in the countrywould continue apace.Under Buhari’s leadership, Nigerians, irrespective of their status, willno longer be left at the mercy of criminal elements, Adesina said.
