ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE wounded soldiers and staff of the United Nations agencies and other international humanitarian organizations injured during Thursday’s ambush by the Boko Haram are in stable condition and responding to treatment.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieut. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, has visited them at the Accident and Emergency Ward of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
According to Col Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations, the Chief of Army Staff visited the injured at about 22h00 hrs on Thursday.
Usman said the Chief of Army Staff was accompanied by the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, some Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division.
“The COAS interacted with the wounded soldiers and civilians, encouraged them and wished them speedy recovery,” Usman said.
Usman added that the COAS equally commended the doctors and the hospital staff for their efforts of giving care and treatment to them.
