Avengers claim responsibility of Chevron blowup

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Niger Delta Avengers has claimed responsibility for the blowing up Chevron Manifolds on Wednesday.

The group announced this in a short message signed by its spokesperson, Brig. Gen Murdoch Agbinibo, on Thursday.

“Between the hours of 10:50pm to 11:10pm our (Niger Delta Avengers) strike team blew up Chevron Manifolds. The manifolds are RMP 22, 23 and 24,” Agbinibo said.

The group had on Wednesday denied entering into negotiation with the Federal Government.

“We the Niger Delta Avengers have not negotiated with anyone,” said Agbinibo.

“So we don’t know where Mr Garba Shehu and General Babagana Munguno, the National Security Adviser, are getting their information from.

“If they have been negotiating with anybody it clearly shows they had been negotiating with fraudsters and their (national security agency) created militant group.”

The group also denied killing and kidnapping any oil workers as claimed by Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in a recent publication.

“We want Garba Shehu to go and get his record straight. Niger Delta Avengers have not killed and kidnapped oil workers, we are not into sea piracy, and we have never killed policemen,” Agbinibo said.

The group claimed the Federal Government knew the people attacking soldiers and killing police officers in the region.
