ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigerian Army has begun its final push of Boko Haram insurgents out of the north eastern parts of the country.

Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Yusha’u Abubakar, confirmed the move.

He revealed that additional Boko Haram terrorists’ enclaves at Angwan Fulani Rugo, Angwan Fulani Kardewa, Dure Fadagwe, Christian, Fadagwe Muni and Balazala had been destroyed.

“As I am talking to you, almost the entire troops in the Theatre are moving towards the Boko Haram den,” Abubakar said.

He said the troops recorded victory at Gudumbali as they engaged the insurgents in crossfire and successfully liberated town but not until ten insurgents were killed.

He said during the operation large quantum of weapons and ammunition of various types were recovered.

The army has in recent weeks recorded significant victories against the Boko Haram, destroying their bases mostly in Borno State and rescuing hundreds of abducted people. – CAJ News
