Army kills kidnappers, rescues victims in Bauchi

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – TROOPS have killed two suspected kidnappers and rescued some victims during operations in the Bauchi State.

Members of the Forward Operation Base, 33 Brigade and local vigilantes conducted patrol along Unguwar Kanawa-Rugar Abdulsalami-Diwa Village-Dutsen Zaki with the aim of clearing cattle rustlers, armed bandits and kidnappers operating in the area.

According to Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col Sani Kukashekan Usman, the troops came in contact with some armed bandits at Jejin Dutsen Zaki (Dutsen Zaki Forest) and there was exchange of gun fire which led to the death of the suspects and the rescue of two victims.

Usman said the team also recovered 5 AK-47 rifles, 23 rounds of 7.62mm ammunitions and 4 Bajaj brand of motorcycles, as well as food items and clothing.
