LAGOS, (CAJ News) – AN organisation aligned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lashed at the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, for verbally attacking Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who represents Lagos Central.
Melaye was said to have verbally assaulted the former Lagos first lady and wife of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, during a closed-door meeting of members of the Senate.
“We thought Sen Melaye had gotten over his verbal diarrhea when he teamed up with members of our party, who are largely men and women of good character, few years ago but we were shocked to hear his outburst against a woman who has, in no small measure, keep the home front while her husband, Asiwaju, continues with the enthronement of democracy in the country and beyond,” said South West APC Social Media Alliance (SWASMA).
The group reacted in a statement signed by coordinator and publicity secretary, Segun Adegbenro, and Sikiru Akinola, respectively.
“We would not have replied him because we know, as a matter of fact, that he has never lived with a woman, as a responsible husband, as he has been alleged, on many occasions, of not only beating but molesting his wives and woman-friends.”
SWASMA urged Tinubu not to be distracted by Melaye’s behaviour.
Melaye has been dvised Melaye to desist from such conduct.
“It is embarrassing to those he represents.”
Ironically, Melaye is a member of the APC.
Women groups have protested against the behaviour of Melaye.
