ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Good Governance Advocates, a pro-democracy group,is not inspired by President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees.

The Senate confirmed the list on Tuesday.“As the long awaited President Buhari’s ministerial nominees was unveiledon Tuesday 6th October, 2015 by Senate President Bukola Saraki, it was not unexpected to us here at Good Governance Advocates,” an executive with the organisation, Ifedayo Obi, said.

“For a national journey of 125days that has cost our economy so much dueto lack of direction and indecisiveness of current government policies toyield this kind of output raises more questions than answers.

”Obi noted that the reason for staying too long was yet unknown to the public.“If this is what tagged as technocrats, unquestionable characters, sanctimonious, corrupt free-entities and political angels then APC (AllProgressives Congress) is absolutely synonymous to PDP (People’sDemocratic Party).

The list is more of appreciating Buhari’s acolytes inhis political wilderness than what Nigerians expected as a custompractised by PDP.

”The organisation highlighted the chequered past of most of the 21 officials Buhari nominated.Among these include Rotimi Amaechi, described by Good Governance Advocatesas the political lion of South-South, popularly known as the “ATM machine”of the Buhari presidential campaign.

“His tenure as Governor of Rivers state was characterized with allegationsof lawlessness, government waste, corruption and incompetence. One of it,was N50 billion bond he raised for his State to fund Buhari’s campaign.Babatunde Fashola, the Lagos State ministerial nominee is described as the competence and performance poster boy of the ruling APC government.

“He recently made news headlines after his successor leak on how asgovernor, he spent over N78 million of Lagos State funds in designing his personal website.

He was also alleged of over bloated projects likeboreholes and road,” Obi said.Obi also gave a negative analysis of Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Buhari’s Kwara State ministerial nominee and spokesperson of APC.

“He is the brain behind APC’s fraudulent campaign promises including the“one meal a day” campaign, which Buhari disowned after his election.”Obi added to the mixed reaction to the ministerial list.“Please join us to welcome our newly appointed noisemakers.”
