The Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently elevated the wife of Senate President, Bukola, to that position at a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja recently.
“I am humbled and honoured by my investiture today as Nigeria Family Planning Champion,” said Saraki.
He said she would carry the title with pride, and with it, empower women and girls to know that they could have a right on when and how they start a family.
“It’s so important for mothers to be empowered to space their childbirth for health and wellbeing, and have access to safe, modern, effective and affordable contraceptives,” she said.
Saraki is the Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa.
